The 4-disc version is currently available for £8.99 with free delivery from play.com

Actually, In the UK it's PD, as copyright for films in the UK only lasts 50 years.

UK film copyright was changed in line with EU copyright in 1998. For films in the UK copyright is life of last surviving credited author (Director, composer, writer, producer) + 70 years.

Prior to 1998 copyright in film lasted for 50 yrs in the UK.

The general legal opinion is that the changes are retrospective, thus putting films that were PD in the UK back into copyright. Because of this there are very few PD DVD companies left in England dealing in anything other than US PD films with just the odd distributor who takes line that every UK film pre 1948 is PD

Gone With the Wind is PD in Australia, where it's images, script and recorded soundtrack entered PD in 1990. However, as Turner Entertainment has lots of money and legal muscle PD distributors generally stay away. Also, they would probably need a licence for the mechanical copyright in Max Steiner's music as he died in the 70s. I am not sure if that would be covered by the general collection agency (AMCOS) licence which most dvd distributors use.
